October 23, 2009 - Caring

Caring was the focus of our October Fabulous Friday. Our program opened with a presentation from Mrs. Cusack's Fourth Hour Class, a drumming presentation called, "Drumming up Caring Characters."

Other Special Presentations included a visit from Ada Sunrise Rotary members Elaine Rhynes, Mary Pfieffer, and Suzanne McFarland. The ladies presented our 3rd graders with individual dictionaries. We are thankful for this contribution and for the many things their organization facilitates in our community and the surrounding communities. Also Mrs. Gail Wood and Mrs. Terri Lovelis presented First American Bank of Stonewall with the Community Partner Award. Melissa Madron accepted the award on behalf of bank.

September 18, 2009-Responsibility

Our first Fabulous Friday set a positive tone for our 2009-2010 Character Counts Campaign as we saw a record attendance and enthusiasm that seemed to breath life into our campaign. In addition to the Stonewall High School Student Council, our Cheerleaders joined in to add energy to the district-wide celebration. As a group we explored the Pillar, Responsibility, and the leaders performed several skits to help the audience from kindergarten to twelfth grade better understand their roles/responsibilities in their lives.

Leaders recognized The Student Council as the Organization of the Month, and Mrs. Steele highlighted some of the activities the Student Council oversees. Also visiting us, OBI, from the Oklahoma Blood Institute, came to help us kick off our Service Learning Project - The Blood Drive.

2009-2010 Character Counts Campaign-"Moovin' on UP!"

Our return to school found us excited and ready to start our new year with a brand new focus in our Character Education Program. Having measured our last year's campaign, "We've Got the POWER," as quite successful, our hopes are to continue that development of great character skills, therefore, we found it most appropriate to title this year's campaign, "Moovin' on UP!"
Following is a brief outline of our program. We sincerly hope you will take pride in knowing that we are doing our very best to insure that your students are becoming all they can be both in the classroom and out in the world. We hope, too, that you will engage with us and become our partners as we accomplish this endeavor.
